A Wedding Affair

A Wedding Affair

We love weddings, we do, and what’s there not to love, two people from different places, culture, and even social set up coming together in an expression of love and commitment. Once upon a times and fairytales alike and we like playing godmother to your Cinderella get you ready for a ball, meet the love of life and a happily ever after.

About The Kiboko Print

This time we got to dress Pasta and Miza, a delectable couple who we absolutely loved working with. See, Pasta is a quiet, composed and calm man his aura is softly energising and his spirit animal so to say is a Hippo. We had to come up with a design that identifies with him while telling the story of our brand. Our brand that is represented by the peacock emblem that showcases the conservative & bold nature of Genteel as a brand. This is because when the peacock decides to do a dance, it brings out the feathers & this simply looks beautiful. For us this speaks about being cultural conscious & culturally bold adding this with Pasta’s idea we came up with a Kiboko print, a sort of merge of the peacock, the hippo and the palm leaves which, symbolise the feathers on the peacock and the colour purple represents royalty. We were able to communicate both visions individually and yet synonymously.

Wedding Preparation

On the morning of the wedding Pasta and his grooms’ men got ready for this one in a lifetime event, clad in the magnificence of the day and velvet fabric coats, trousers and custom-made bow tie of the same material and design of inner coat, blue for the men and red for the man. Jokes and laughs passed around the room. Vibrance and excited banter and all this energy captured in the fabric, design and print of their suits and swag. It was time to now head out and get cuffed for life.

Car Park Photoshoot IS A MUST

The joining ceremony, where the magic begins, Pasta proceeded to wait for his bride at the altar the ceremony was short and sweet, the vows were meaningful and beautiful, the dapper brothers really looked sharp in their suits, for a moment in time we were so proud of what we could achieve for Pasta and his grooms’ men, that we were able to make an outfit that he loved.

What’s a wedding without the photo session? The couple and their bridal party went ahead to take pictures to remind them of the colourful day and trust me everything about it was memorable, the whole vibe and energy from the bridal team. Lord! Everything about it was fun, exciting and laughable.

Dance The Night Away

The reception, the couple danced ready to have a good time, a start of their new lives together. Everyone looked so good, low-key seemed like a fashion event and we are happy to have been invited and happier that we got to dress the groom on his very special day.
